Association

Malayalee Association of Sault Ste. Marie (SMA) is a vibrant, non-profit community of individuals and families originally from the Indian state of Kerala, now living in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Our aim is to connect, support, and celebrate Malayalee culture and heritage while embracing Canadian values.

Since the arrival of the first Malayalee students in 2016, the community has grown steadily with more students, working professionals, and families joining. With this growth came the need for an official platform — thus, SMA was born. We are proud to serve as a cultural and social hub for all Malayalees in the region.

A forum for fostering our rich legacy, cultural heritage and family focus in a distant land — helping everyone thrive in their adopted country with prosperity and values.

SMA through its activities endeavors to:

Help settling down new migrant Malayalees in Sault Ste Marie.
Facilitate a platform for members to meet, interact, learn and become true ambassadors of India in Canada.
Promote cultural, recreational and other skills and talents of its members.
Collaborate with like-minded organizations to conduct programs of common interest.

Our Values

Sault Malayalee Association upholds and promotes the vibrant cultural and linguistic heritage of the Malayalees and promotes interaction and camaraderie among Malayalees in Sault Ste Marie, integrating the best of Kerala traditions with Canadian lifestyle.

We are always at the forefront in offering help and assistance in times of humanitarian needs arising from unfortunate events, whether natural or otherwise.
